Lamborghini took the wraps off a pair of Aventadors at McCall's Motorworks Revival at the Monterey Jet Center. Lamborghini is apparently chomping at the bit to say arrivederci to the manual transmission. Motor Trend had a chance to speak with Maurizio Reggiani, Lamborghini's R&D director, and it appears that a manual gearbox doesn't fit into the automaker's plans for the future. The immediate future.

It has only been a week since the new supercar's debut at the Geneva Motor Show, but Lamborghini says its Aventador LP 700-4 is already sold out for the next 12 months. Lambo says it has "an exceptional order bank" for its new 12-cylinder flagship model. "We confirmed our long-term strategy, which calls for stable and significant investments in new products even in difficult times. The Texas Mile sounds like a totally kick ass event. You get one mile on flat, straight airport runway to go as fast as possible, with a half mile to bring your vehicle to a halt.
