On Second Thought, August Sales Data Not That Bad

The auto industry recently took a pounding from pundits all over (this blog included) from the incredibly weak August auto sales data that hit like a Chevy Silverado crashing off a cliff. Some reports even went as far as to say the monthly sales data was the worst since 1982. In truth, the August sales paled in comparison to the previous August sales data.

But are we being too harsh on the auto industry?
