Rolls-Royce 200EX (R44) Smaller and Cheaper than a Phantom. But Still Big and Expensive
Rolls-Royce 200EX
The Rolls-Royce 200EX design direction for a smaller, less expensive sedan designed to sell alongside the Rolls-Royce Phantom is here. Set for production in mid 2010 the 200EX or internally known as the RR4, will look virtually identical.
Based on the latest BMW 7-series platform the Rolls-Royce 200EX or RR4 will be powered by BMW's new twin-turbo V12 engine that produces over 550 horsepower The Rolls-Royce 200EX (RR4) will also use ZF eight speed automatic transmission, which will deliver a six percent improvement in fuel economy compared with a six speed auto.
One of the best aspects of the car is the rear seats superbly appointed and finished like the two-door Phantom, the 200EX has a sporty look with a wide stance using 285/40 R 20in rear wheels and tires.
The dashboard is clear and simple, with the trademark thin-rimmed steering wheel. The cabin is roomy for all occupants as in the Phantom, allowing a degree of privacy not found in similar cars.
Starting Price is estimated at US$245,000 to US$288,000
