MINI E Electric is Now Available

 

The The BMW Group will be the world’s first automaker manufacturer to deploy a fleet of some 500 all electric MINI E vehicles for private use.

The MINI E made its first debut in the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show, the MINI E will be power-driven by a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor and a high performance rechargeable lithium ion batteries, transferring power to the front wheels via a single-stage helical gearbox that makes hardly any noise and entirely free of emissions.

Specifically engineered for automobile use, the battery technology will have a range of more than 245 kilometers, or 150 miles with a top speed electronically limited to 95 mph.

To preserve energy and achieve greater mileage range ( Specified at 150 miles), the MINI E uses a regenerative braking system, which is directly connected to the accelerator.

The MINI E will primarily be made available to choice customers in New Jersey, New York and California.
