FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) -- German carmaker Daimler plans to cut its production by more than 40,000 vehicles over the coming four months in response to sluggish demand, Stuttgarter Zeitung reported, not citing where it got the information.
The German carmaker last week said it is cutting production both in Germany and in the United States, but did not say by how much output will shrink.
The report said production at its Untertürkheim plant in Germany will also be curbed, in particular output of V6 and V8 engines.
