Kia Kee Concept
A Euro flair for Kia’s latest idea car.
by TCC Team
Kia used the Frankfurt International Motor Show to debut their Kee sports coupe concept. Designed not far from the Frankfurt Messe in Kia's new European HQ and design studio, the Kee is an indication of the Korean's new design language for the European market.
The Kee is a four-passenger, two-door coupe that could be easily mistaken for an advanced concept from a European manufacturer. The influence of the largely continental workforce is clear - the Kee looks like nothing we've seen on U.S. shores from the Korean manufacturer.
The most distinctive design elements lie in the fascia where the strong headlamps and unique use of LEDs give it a menacing, animal-like face. The side profile and rear end are less aggressive but combined produce an overall attractive package.
Peter Schreyer, Chief Design Officer for Kia Motors and a longtime design luminary in the German auto industry whose portfolio includes the original Audi TT, commented that the design of the Kee is a strong representation of what is coming from Kia Europe and a realistic interpretation of what they have in store for their target market.
The Kee is powered by a 2.0-liter V-6 and a six-speed automatic.
