Wiesmann GT MF 5
Unveiled: Wiesmann GT MF 5
Posted by Edmunds
FRANKFURT, Germany — Friedhelm and Martin Wiesmann elected not to display their new Wiesmann GT MF 5 at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. Instead, the latest Wiesmann supercar was unveiled at the company's local dealership here.
Priced from just under $250,000, the GT MF 5 boasts a 507-horsepower 5.0-liter V10 from the BMW M5/M6, coupled with a seven-speed sequential automatic transmission and a variable differential lock. Wiesmann says the car will accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 193 mph.
The luscious GT body has been updated and is lower, longer and wider than the MF 4. A rear wing and a diffuser are among the new exterior features. The composite body panels are mounted on a lightweight aluminum monocoque. The car rides on 19-inch alloy wheels with 245/40ZR19 tires in front and 275/30ZR19s in the rear.
Inside, the MF 5 gets redesigned bucket seats that can be adjusted to follow the occupant's body contours. Carbon seats are available by request.
The first cars are expected to be delivered to customers in spring 2008.
What this means to you: We'll take a Wiesmann any day over a Gallardo.
