Lamborghini Reventon
Lamborghini unveiled the Reventon, a Murciélago-based supercar. Even at its announced price of $1.4 million — before tax — all 20 cars in the series have been presold.
The recipe for this ultimate Italian supercar: Begin with a Murciélago LP640, tune its engine and update its styling so it looks like a fighter plane in a sci-fi movie. The Reventon's gleaming composite carbon-fiber body was clearly aviation-inspired. Lamborghini's iconic scissors-style doors combine finned wheel rims and xenon headlights for an enticingly menacing visual effect. Swaths of leather, carbon fiber and Alcantara — and an all-digital liquid crystal display — round out the interior.
The Reventon is powered by a 650-horsepower V12 engine. It has a top speed of 211 mph and accelerates from zero to 62 in 3.4 seconds. Oh, and as usual, it was named after a fighting bull, this one from the glory days of bullfighting in the 1940s.
What this means to you: Another chapter in the evergreen Ferrari-versus-Lamborghini saga.
